Hunt for violent thug on way back to jail

A prolific violent thug is being hunted for recall to prison.

Christopher Norton, a local man with a string of violent offences on his record is being sought by cops who say he could be in the York area.

Norton was sent down for five years in 2024 for his racially aggrivated attack on a woman in Selby. His victim was blinded in one eye and suffered  fractures to her face.

But wait, there's more! Norton has a string of convictions for violent offences, ranging from street brawls to an incident with a machette outside a school. By our fag-packet maths, Norton has now been handed down sentences totaling at least 16 years in the last 18 years alone.

North Yorkshire Police says it is now conducting 'extensive enquiries' in its hunt  and have appealed for help in finding him.
